Starsailor's long awaited third album On the Outside has been announced, their first single from it; In the Crossfire is piled up on record shop shelves and the band are limbering up for a full length tour as soon as the new material is in the CD players of eager fans. The band do a few small shows to stretch their muscles and get to match fitness and fit in a few in-store acoustic sessions and signings en route.

The second UK gig in Manchester followed an in-store session earlier that day, with a 3 song acoustic set and signing session at the Fopp record store in town. James delivered In The Crossfire, Silence is Easy and This Time with only his guitar for company and a new addition to the Starsailor live stable in the shape of Richard Warren, who is adding weight, with additional guitar and vocals. After the acoustic performance, the full band appeared to sign copies of the single In the Crossfire that had been released the previous day.
